Weddings

Using a mix of film and digital, I approach weddings as stories waiting to be told.

I focus on capturing the love, mood, and energy of the day through candid, honest imagery that goes beyond documenting the event.

My goal is to preserve not just how it looked, but how it felt, the connection, the movement, the quiet moments, and the joy between two people beginning their life together.

Mark & Ana

Mark and Ana were married in August in Corbett, Oregon, with their ceremony and reception held outdoors among the trees. They chose a combination of 35mm film, medium format film, and digital photography to document the day.

Their coverage focused on a balance of traditional portraits, candid moments, and the overall atmosphere of the event. Because much of the day took place in direct midday light, I selected film stocks and filters suited to those conditions to ensure consistent, natural results across both film and digital images.

This gallery reflects the full scope of the day, from the ceremony and family portraits through the reception and quieter in-between moments.

“My family will cherish these photos forever.”

“Hunter went above and beyond. He was easy to work with and the photos are incredible. My family will cherish these photos forever.”

Teresa & Derek

Teresa and Derek’s wedding took place on a warm June day at the base of Mount Hood, surrounded by forest, a flowing river, and a small cabin that served as the backdrop for the entire event. I photographed the full day, beginning with preparations and continuing through the ceremony and into the evening.

They requested primarily digital coverage, but I also brought film cameras and photographed several rolls on both 35mm and medium format to complement the set.

The guest list was small and intimate, which allowed for a relaxed pace and time to create more intentional portraits. After the ceremony, Teresa and Derek incorporated colored smoke bombs into a portrait session in the woods, adding a unique visual element to the day. We later drove to a higher vantage point overlooking Mount Hood, where we finished with a final series of portraits!

Observed Weddings

Some of my favorite wedding photographs have been made while attending as a guest, without assignment or expectation.

These images reflect how I naturally observe a wedding day when simply present within it. They are not directed or staged, but unfold on their own. Many were photographed candidly on 35mm film, capturing moments as they existed.
